Kathmandu, also known as Kathmandu Metropolitan City, is the capital of Nepal and the country's largest city. It's located in the Kathmandu Valley, a large valley in central Nepal surrounded by hills and the Himalaya Mountains. Kathmandu is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world, founded in the 2nd century AD.
